About Beth

Beth began her pastry career when she gave up her art history studies to enroll in the pastry program at the French Culinary Institute in New York. She’s been baking professionally ever since, both in New York and in her native New Orleans, where she returned to spend  ten years as pastry chef at Lilette. While there, she was selected as a Chef to Watch in 2007 by The Times-Picayune and was a semi-finalist for the James Beard Outstanding Pastry Chef award in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. Upon leaving Lilette, she took a break from cooking to study and work in the interior design industry. Beth couldn’t stay away from the kitchen long and began Beth Biundo Sweets, a special order dessert business. After an extensive search she finally found the perfect home for her bakery at 3917 Baronne Street in Uptown New Orleans. Her passion for baking, as well as design and travel, inspired both the simple modern design of the bakery and her menu of classic, elegant and flavorful desserts.
